A shout out to our “Pick of the Letter” for the month of October. Owen Mohr is the Manager of Saginaw Old Town Junction, in you guessed it… Saginaw. When we first started booking shows only two months ago, we encountered some less than friendly business owners and/or Managers. We would have people tell us they would call us back and fail to do so, break promises, etc. We understand we were an unproven band, but we’re also comprised of a group of guys with many years of experience with long resume’s in the business. All this said, we reached out to The Junction and talked with Owen. He agreed to give us a shot, and we agreed to bring a decent crowd. We played our first show out at the Junction, and kept a nice crowd singing along and dancing past our stop time, played two encore’s, and kept the Junction staff plenty busy. We talked with Owen and Tony, the owner of the Junction after the show and ended up booking three more shows at the Junction. Owen also shared his opinion of our band with other businesses and as a result we’re getting calls from other establishments that have led to more shows. Owen was a man of his word and has gone above and beyond for us. For a group of guys getting back into the music scene after a long break, meeting someone like him has truly been fantastic. This all came from good communication, promises that were fulfilled by Owen and our band, and a simple handshake. Business Owners and Managers, you can run your business however you choose, but Owen’s way of doing business isn’t a bad model to follow at all. Thank you Owen.
P.S. - On a side note The Junction has fantastic food and drinks, and is a nice establishment all the way around. Tony Krasinski has a good thing going here, and we highly recommend you check out the Saginaw Old Town Junction if you haven’t yet. Checking it out on a night we’re performing will give you even more Razzle Dazzle. :)
